Lindsay Schelhorn and Jackie Stachel

Lindsay Schelhorn, M.S., CCC-SLP is an executive function coach and a certified school based speech-language pathologist specializing in teenagers diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, nonverbal learning disorder, intellectual disabilities and other social, emotional and behavioral disabilities in a variety of settings including school, and after school programs. She has ten years of experience working with teenagers on the autism spectrum in a variety of different capacities. After completing her degree in Psychology at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, Lindsay completed a graduate level certificate in Autism Studies through West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Lindsay graduated from Mass General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions with her degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2014. Through her work over the last three and a half years with the MGH Aspire program, she runs groups for teenagers and young adults on the autism spectrum that combine social skills development, executive functioning practice and emotional regulation skills in a group setting. Through her varied professional and educational experiences, Lindsay feels passionately about guiding teenagers and young adults to becoming more independent by increasing their confidence in functional skills, and teaching them strategies to increase their understanding and awareness of the relationship between social skills and executive functioning skills. Jackie Stachel is the Director of Communications for Beyond BookSmart. Before joining Beyond BookSmart in 2010, Jackie was a Speech-Language Pathologist at Needham High School. She earned her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Whether it's managing our website, posting on our social media, authoring and editing blog articles, or creating presentations, Jackie Stachel, MS CCC-SLP, oversees all internal and external communications at Beyond BookSmart. In addition to her work as Director of Communications, Jackie is an Executive Function Coach for Beyond BookSmart and leads presentations for parent groups throughout Massachusetts. Additionally, Jackie manages the company blog content through editing submissions, writing articles, and collaborating with professionals from outside Beyond BookSmart. She also creates video content and is our webmaster.
